|How do I get a registration token?|
Please refer the note on the 'Create Account' page as how you can receive a code (as of 1/26/06):
Tokens are required to join Aria's Ink. Follow these steps to get a token:
Step 1. Fill in the desired member name and a valid email address. Leave the token field blank. Click 'Check Account.'
Step 2. Complete the required additional information and check that your username and email are correct. Mistakes cannot be corrected. Click 'Request.'
Step 3. An email will be sent the provided address with information on how to continue the sign-up process.
Things to consider:
A maximum of TWO accounts per member are allowed. If you break this rule, all accounts will be disabled.
Tokens are sent out once they have been processed by an administrator. Depending on the admin's workload, it can take a few seconds or a few hours. Also, make sure you are accepting emails from email@example.com BEFORE making your request. If you are not, you will not receive your token and will have to re-register using a different username.
|Why didn't I receive a token?|
Is your email account accepting email from all addresses? Are you blocking any email? Did you check to see if it happened to be sorted into your 'Bulk Folder' (or spam folder)? Did you read this news article? Have you waited a sufficient amount of time for the email to be received?
If you are accepting all email, it's not in your bulk/spam folder, it's not an AOL address, and it's been several days, try signing up again, this time with a different email address. If the problem persists, and you've tried several times, then and only then, email Aria.
|What do I do when I receive my token?|
Once you have received your token you can then proceed to create an account; once created, you will then receive another email with your login details.
|What happens if I don't use my token?|
If you don't create the account with the token provided before the 30 expiration period, the token will be revoked and the details you used to obtain the token will be removed.
|What happens if I don't log into my account for a long time?|
Depending on the period of time that has passed will depend on the action.
45 days of Inactivity: Email is sent to warn of possible status change
60 days of Inactivity: Email is sent to inform of status change 'Inactive'
90 days of Inactivity: Email is sent to inform of status change 'Disabled'
|Can I reactivate my disabled account?|
Reactivation depends on how the account was disabled.
If an account is disabled by the system, it can be reactivated using the 'Enable Account' link.
If you disable your account manually, all your information is removed (including your email address) and the system cannot send you a reactivation code.
|If I am an author and my account is disabled, will my stories be removed as well?|
Yes, the stories will be removed. Stories are not permitted on the site unless there is an active account attached to them.
|My account was disabled and my Private Messages have disappeared. Why?|
If you let your account lapse for 90 days and it gets disabled by the system, ALL the information (except the email address & password) will be removed.
